So,<\/span><b> if the job allows it, chances are people are working from home<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> at least some of the time.<\/span><\/p><h3><b>More people are working from home overall<\/b><\/h3><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In early 2024, about <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bls.gov\/opub\/btn\/volume-14\/telework-trends.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">35.5 million Americans<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (or 22.9% of all workers) were working from home for pay, an increase of 5 million from the year before. That\u2019s a clear sign that<\/span><b> remote work is still growing<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, even with some companies encouraging teams to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/archieapp.co\/blog\/return-to-office-statistics\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">return to the office<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p><h3><b>Hybrid is the most popular setup<\/b><\/h3><p><b>When given the choice, most people say they prefer a <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/archieapp.co\/blog\/hybrid-work-examples-and-practices\/\"><b>hybrid schedule<\/b><\/a><b>. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gallup.com\/401384\/indicator-hybrid-work.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gallup<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, 6 in 10 remote-capable workers want a mix of home and office time, while about a third prefer fully remote, and fewer than 10% want to be in the office every day. Flexibility really matters, and hybrid offers a balance that works for a lot of people.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><h3><b>A typical hybrid week? 2\u20133 days in the office<\/b><\/h3><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Among those with hybrid setups, <\/span><b>most spend 2\u20133 days per week at the office<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, according to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gallup.com\/401384\/indicator-hybrid-work.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gallup<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. This has become a new standard. Just <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gallup.com\/workplace\/654911\/employee-engagement-sinks-year-low.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">31% of American employees<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> were engaged at work in 2024, the lowest it\u2019s been in the past decade. <\/span><b>Engagement peaked at 36% in 2020, so things have definitely slipped.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It shows that even in jobs people once enjoyed, motivation is fading.<\/span><\/p><h3><b>Half of workers are job-hunting<\/b><\/h3><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Adding to the challenge, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gallup.com\/467702\/indicator-employee-retention-attraction.aspx#:~:text=Intent%20to%20Leave\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>51% of U.S. employees<\/b><\/a><b> say they\u2019re watching for or actively looking for a new job<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. That\u2019s half the workforce who could leave at any time, putting serious pressure on companies to improve their culture, communication, and career growth options.<\/span><\/p><h3><b>Why people are quitting<\/b><\/h3><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s not just about money. In fact, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gallup.com\/467702\/indicator-employee-retention-attraction.aspx#:~:text=,of%20the%20time\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">37% of employees<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> who quit in 2024 did so because of poor engagement or toxic culture, and 31% left due to burnout or lack of work-life balance. Just 16% quit mainly for better pay.
