Finding the right coworking software that would operate at scale

Most coworking operations start with one location, then after some years consider expanding. Modspace planned three spaces from the outset. They had to be careful and deliberate when it came to choosing a coworking software, as any weaknesses in the system would run through three spaces. Their ambition meant that scalability was a critical point of conversation in the sales process.

In choosing Archie, Modspace prioritized:

Their members are mostly established professional teams and, with a fully branded app, the product their members interact with feels built for them. For that reason the software had to be professional and smooth from day one.

A platform powerful enough to handle operations without overcomplicating

"With Archie, we knew what would happen as we opened our second and third locations, so there were no surprises down the road. It was a stepped contract. We knew we were opening three locations in succession, and the agreement allowed us to pay for one location at the same price when we opened the second and third — no renegotiating each site."

How Archie gave Modspace a setup that matched the way they planned to grow. Instead of worrying about reworking contracts every time a new site opened, Modspace had a clearer path forward from the beginning. That made it easier to move ahead with confidence and stick to the original expansion plan.

Support has been a crucial part of the experience. For any technical questions and feature help, Lane highlighted that the Archie team does an incredible job. The unlimited access to support was a real advantage when evaluating Archie with other coworking vendors early on, and Modspace's customer experience has proved that responsiveness is never an issue.

"The unlimited access to chat support really helped them stand out compared to competitors. Onboarding members has not been difficult. They log on, use the mobile app if needed, book their rooms, and away they go. It's straightforward and reliable."

On the member side, Archie made bookings straightforward. While Modspace users tend to be tech-savvy, their coworking software just needs to be practical and reliable. Members often use the mobile app, as it's an easy way to book what they need (desks, rooms, printing services, etc) quickly.

The resource credit system in Archie also opened up a new stream of revenue. Modspace uses the ezeep integration to support on-site printing. Printing credits are built into plans based on team size, and when members go over their allocation, usage can be tracked and billed.
